Here is the quick bullet list on how to get this blog up and running.

1. Register a domain name. I use Bluehost.com for thefromfamily.com

2. Sign up with a web hosting company. Also use Bluehost.com

3. Load the main blog software. I use WordPress.

4. Load a nifty Blog theme. Quite a few are free; many, some, etc..

5. Browse through the WordPress plugins for some favorites.

6. Load forum software. I use BBPress.

7. Register with Google Adsense

8. Register with  Text Link Ads.

9. Sign up with Chitika .

10. Register with Google Anayltics.

11. Sign up with Paypal.

12. Create Content. Even this list counts.

13. Host a Blog Carnival.

14. Register with Yahoo if you don’t show automatically. I am a Googler myself. Not that there is anything wrong with being a Yahoo-er.

15. Likely need photo-editing software. I use the Gimp. It’s free.

16. Claim your blog on Technorati.

17. Add your site to your del.icio.us favorites list.

18. Sign up for Alexa rankings.

19. Get content on Sphinn.

20. Send notice with Ping-o-Matic.

21. Submit your URL in the OPD - Open Directory Project.

22. Include your own link on your Facebook profile.

23. Join the Amazon Affiliate program.

24. Join StumbleUpon. Very fun to Stumble around.

25. Be a part of MyBlogLog. Nice WordPress widgets.

26. Check your site with W3C Markup Validation. Do your best. A couple a week.

27. Rinse. Repeat. Do the apple detox to recover, then re-examine all of the above applications. Each one has many features to discover…
