True Hallucinations by Terence McKenna
Full Title: True Hallucinations by Terence McKenna; Being an Account of the Author’s Extraordinary Adventures in the Devil’s Paradise
Rating: 4/5
Writing Style: A bit rambley, but packed with way-out-there ideas.
Summary: An account of Terence and friends travelling the Amazon basin in search of shamanic hallucinogens.
Comments: This book is out there. Way out there. Rambling in the way that it feels like reading many separate books bound together in sequential order; one story for Dennis McKenna’s buzzing experiment, one story for Terence’s I-Ching time mapping, one for combined human consciousness as over-soul UFO, one for a symbiosis trade agreement of hyperspace travel for movement, etc..
I enjoyed all the concepts, but maybe a tougher editor would have helped. Definitely on the lookout for more of Terence McKenna’s books.
The audio book version is also excellent. Terence and Dennis tell their own story and far more comes across.
