The Mystified Fortune-teller and Other Tales From Psychotherapy

Author: Gerald Amada, Ph. D.

Rating: 4/5

Back Cover Snippet: ‘…readers are taken into Amada’s confidence as he describes his perception of his clients, their therapy, and the difficulties, as well as solutions, encountered in psychotherapeutic practice…’

My Comments: The teaser title hinted that this book would be spookier, but it turns out to be a collection of folks with everyday struggles. Eventually I recovered from this let-down and ended up liking the book, but I was still expecting something a little more far out. Like watching a good X-Files tv episode, but it does not end with aliens or a government conspiracy as the reason. If the book dealt only with fortune tellers seeking psychotherapy it would get the max 5/5 rating.

Bonus:  Amada mentions a favorite author Erich Fromm, so I will check out one of Erich’s books next.
