Comments: I am a definite fan of Mr. Zelazny, but I couldn’t give this book a full 5/5 because it was too short. All he had to do was stretch out the exact same material a bit more and it would be perfect. (Maybe a couple more random Shadow villain encounters.) The series is a good example of a storyline too confusing for tv or movie medium constraints; billions of slightly different realities… easy to describe, but hard to present visually. I am already set to pick up the next Chronicles of Amber book Sign of the Unicorn next. It is also nice change when Earth turns out to be a minor place in the universe and not the most important.
