Results: UFC 94 St-Pierre vs Penn 2
The UFC 94 show was pretty good. The main event fight was great, the other broad-casted fights were decent, but just not enough fights were shown. Maybe they could do like HDNet fights and show the under card fights on regular TV, or as part of the free pay-per-view pre-show, or even free web-site downloads… something.
Georges St-Pierre crushes BJ Penn
GSP dominated Penn. I have never heard color commentator Joe Rogan talk so little during a UFC main event fight. During the GSP domination in rounds 2 and 3 Joe Rogan had long periods of total silence. Rogan must have been caught up in his own over-hype of BJ Penn.
The fight was great to see. I don’t see a third fight happening anytime soon. Favorite part had to be after the 4th round when GSP smack the cage in frustration because he knew the ref should have stopped the fight, and the ref would have stopped the fight for anyone else but BJ Penn. Everyone was waiting for BJ Penn to do an attack of some kind, but he never did.
Stephan Bonnar loses to awesome Jon ‘Bones’ Jones
Jon Jones was awesome. He used a wicked spinning back elbow attack, a few body slams, and was super fast. Great to see. Instant fan of this fighter. As an added bonus he made Stephar Bonnar look like an average sparring guy. Stephan could be in career trouble now…
Karo Parisyan beats Dong Hyun Kim
Karo got the win, but it was a close decision. He might have deserved it, but it might also have been his celebrity status just giving him the slight edge to get the call. If the decision went to Dong Hyun Kim it would have be OK also.
Jon Fitch Vs. Akihiro Gono
I will have to check the official UFC site for results on this one. A couple of the early fights went the distance so this one was bumped off pay-per-view. Kind of strange paying for a show and not be allowed to watch the fights you want.
I’m didn’t care too much about the other fights, but Clay Guida and Lyoto Machida put on a good show during their respective fights. UFC 94 was worth the buy.
