No 5 round main event for this show allowed more fights to be broadcast, and quite a few were fast knock-outs or submissions. So the fight card might have been bland going in, but turned out very entertaining.

Randy Couture loses to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira

I was cheering for Randy, and even though he lost… Randy did put on a great fight. Antonio looks way more impressive now after winning this. The UFC promoters are good at their jobs, now I am ready to see Antonio fight Brock Lesnar. Plus maybe have a miracle fight with Randy cut down to 205lbs to fight Anderson Silva.

The semi-upsets of having Keith Jardine knocked out, and Chris Leben choked out was pretty surprising. Those two fighters could be in trouble if they don’t start winning.

Brandon Vera sort of outpointed his opponent to win… sort of boring to watch.

Nate Marquard knocked out his opponent instantly. Great to watch, but it’s too soon for a rematch with Anderson Silva.

So overall a below average looking show turned out pretty good. A big part of that being the quality fighting shown in the main event by both Randy and Antonio. And again it’s great when the pay-per-view broadcasts so many of the fights.
