Good to Great by Jim Collins

Why Some Companies Make the Leap… and Other’s Don’t

Rating: 4/5

Inside Cover Snippet:’… Over five years, the team analyzed the histories of all twenty-eight companies in the study. … Collins and his crew discovered the key determinants of greatness …’

Comments: The book was readable and interesting, but just not quite a 5/5 type of book. Maybe it is because the subject matter is potential flamebait and the author really doesn’t want it to be, but the overall feel of the book is politically correct safe.

The Jim Collins website is not mentioned in the book, but looks pretty good for supporting material. If I run out of book ideas I will use his Reading Room webpage, but for now I’ll check out the ones mentioned in Good to Great; The Wealth and Poverty of Nations by David Landes, Built to Last by Jim Collins, and Resisting Hostile Takeovers by Rita Ricardo-Campbell.
