Memory of Elsewhere by Rona Murray
Rating: 3- /5
Writing Style:
Rona Murray has a Ph.D. in English Literature and it shows. The tone is biting.
Summary:
Some talk of her own near death experience, many good quotes from other writers throughout the book, and finally her own writings on how we should be doing better as people.
Comments:
I was hoping for a book dedicated to a personal near death experience, but was let down. She sort of mentions it in a few spots, but only vaguely even then. For other chapters I kept having to take breaks from reading since her opinions are pretty negative. It felt as though she was constantly lecturing me to be a better person, quit destroying the planet, you are all horrible… She should maybe assume the type of person that reads this book would be a unique audience and not fit into her stereo-types of the greater mob population.
The quotes throughout by other writers are great.
